How much should I charge to paint a room?
A standard interior room (walls only) commonly runs $350 to $650 in labor plus paint, depending on size, prep, and the number of coats. Ceilings, trim, and repairs are usually billed as separate lines.
Should I charge by the room or by the square foot?
Either works. Per-room flat rates are easy for clients to understand and suit most interiors. Square-foot pricing is fairer for large, open spaces and exteriors where wall area varies a lot.
Do I charge sales tax on painting?
